Storm surveys suggest at least 7 tornadoes touched down Wednesday night – WKRG News 5

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) – National Weather Service survey crews in Mobile, Alabama, released preliminary results from their first survey of damage from Wednesday night’s series of severe storms.

Currently, at least seven tornadoes are believed to have touched down.

Here’s a breakdown of the results so far:

PERRY COUNTY, MS: Ef-0 Damage was discovered in Perry County. This tornado is the same storm that reportedly caused EF-2 damage in Forrest County MS.
GREENE COUNTY, MS: Damage in McLain, MS was reportedly caused by an EF-2 tornado.
CHOCTAW COUNTY, MS (OFFICIAL): Gilberttown, AL appears to have been damaged by an EF-1 tornado.
MOBILE COUNTY, AL: At least four tornadoes are now believed to have touched down Wednesday night. Damage was seen following a tornado along the AL/MS state line. Other damage was confirmed near Semmes and Théodore. All tornadoes are believed to be EF-0 or EF-1.
BALDWIN COUNTY, AL: At least one tornado appears to have touched down near Point Clear. This was noted and EF-0.

These results are preliminary and are subject to change based on further investigation. Additional survey teams are expected to investigate damage in Clarke, Wilcox and North Baldwin counties in Alabama. Further damage will be investigated in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
