Panaji, October 7 (PTI) Goa Deputy Speaker of the Assembly and BJP MP Isidore Fernandes on Thursday said pre-election polls were being conducted in an air-conditioned room with “pegs” in hand. Fernandes was apparently referring to a pre-poll poll conducted by a local news channel that showed him in a ‘danger zone’ if he ran from his constituency of Canacona in state polls due in early 2022 This is my statement (on the investigation), ”Fernandes said when asked for the results. He was one of 10 congressmen who switched sides and joined the ruling BJP in July 2019. Lawmakers have said those who predict his defeat should challenge him and show they can be elected. Fernandes said such pre-election polls are a “joke” as the assembly elections are still more than four months away. PTI RPS RSY RSY
