Participate in discussion groups on the inclusion of people with disabilities

Posted on February 23, 2022

People with disabilities and their friends, families, carers and service providers are invited to an online discussion group in early March to help shape the Council’s draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

The purpose of the focus groups is to talk about moving forward on issues that the community identified in a recent online survey.

“We know that great ideas and solutions come from our community,” said Liveable Communities director Paul De Szell. “By listening to our community, we can better identify the improvements we can make and the best ways to make them.

“Having the strong voice of the community behind the plan also helps us secure the funding we need to create change. So when you get involved, it really makes a difference.

The online focus group sessions will be held on:

Wednesday March 9 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Friday March 11 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Monday March 14 5:30 p.m. – 7 p.m.

For anyone who cannot participate in an online discussion group, there are other options, such as a phone conversation.
