Drilling by Golden Rim Resources Ltd identifies additional gold targets at the Kada project in Guinea

Golden Rim Resources Ltd (ASX:GMR) has identified additional gold targets from a geophysical survey program at the Kada Gold Project in Guinea, West Africa.

The program included ground magnetic, induced polarization (IP) and pole-dipole IP geophysical surveys at Kada, covering the Massan and Bereko prospects.

Notably, the surveys identify several new drill targets for gold mineralization outside Golden Rim’s first Inferred Mineral Resource (ERM) estimate of 930,000 ounces of gold at Massan.

Golden Rim plans to test these new targets in its next drill program which is expected to begin this quarter.

“Exciting New Gold Targets”

Golden Rim Managing Director, Craig Mackay, said, “This geophysical survey data for Kada has helped our exploration team better understand the nature of the mineralization in the area and, when integrated with our geochemical data auger we have generated several exciting new gold targets for the upcoming drill program. .

“We plan to resume RC and diamond drilling in the fourth quarter of 2022. We will aggressively drill the Bereko prospect, as well as conduct resource extension around the first MRE of the Massan prospect.

“In addition, we intend to undertake infill drilling to convert a large portion of our MRE to indicated, leading to a scoping study in 2023.”

Geophysical surveys

Golden Rim engaged SAGAX to perform ground magnetic (82 kilometres), gradient IP (75 kilometer) and pole-dipole IP (6.6 kilometer) surveys at Kada, focusing on the Bereko and Massan prospects.

The surveys were designed to improve Golden Rim’s understanding of the structural controls and distribution of gold mineralization.

The highest priority targets were associated with the margin zones between the highly resistive and chargeable IP anomalies and the highly conductive and chargeable IP anomalies.

The broadest and richest mineralization in the EMR area at Massan generally occurs near these marginal zones.

A priority target for follow-up drilling is a strong untested IP anomaly that lies directly below the previous drill intersection of 29 meters at 8.5 g/t gold in the MRE.

Provisional plan

Golden Rim’s next drilling at Kada is expected to start next month.

At the Massan prospect, two drilling programs are planned:

  • The first is a resource expansion RC program, focused on following open intersections at the margins of the MRE as well as open mineralization to the north.
  • The second and largest program is an infill diamond and RC drilling program targeting the highest grade and deepest oxide portion of the MRE, with the goal of converting much of the existing MRE from the inferred category to the specified category.

In addition, 700 meters of trenching have been planned in this area to improve the geological understanding of the orientation and controls of gold mineralization.

At Bereko, Golden Rim plans to complete RC and diamond drilling to follow up on the gold intersections obtained during the first RC drilling and additional targets identified from recent auger drilling and IP geophysical data.
